About us

We are Amanda & Jason — the explorers behind Get Outside and Play USA.

Our adventures started at the beginning of the pandemic. We crossed paths for the second time in our lives at a time when the world was on lockdown and all we really wanted was to get outside and play.... and that's what we did, we have been glued together ever since.

We both have a love for the outdoors that runs deep. We have chased some of the most beautiful waterfalls, rock hounded for rare gems and minerals, and panned for gold on the highest mountain tops. It doesn't matter if we are crabbing on the coast, wandering endless trails on a long hike, or digging in the dirt to hunt for treasures; we feel most at home when we are outside, exploring the beauty this world has to offer.

Through Get Outside and Play USA, we share stories, tips, and inspiration from our journeys — from road trips across the Pacific Northwest to afternoons spent rock hounding, gold panning, and chasing waterfalls.
